The Southern Circuit

This idea covers the three most popular "must sees" while in Southern Africa, touring the fairest Cape, seeking out the Big 5 in the Kruger area and viewing the magnificence of the Victoria Falls.

Day 1. Arrive Cape Town. You will be met by our Goway representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 2. Cape of Good Hope. Travel along one of South Africa's most scenic routes, passing Hout Bay and Constantia Hills enjoying dramatic scenery enroute to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Enjoy one of the most famous views in the world, False Bay. Stop at Bolders Beach to see the penguins at the naval town of Simon's Town. B

Day 3 & 4. Cape Town. Cape Town is known as "The Mother City of Africa". Weather permitting, take a trip up magnificent Table Mountain (cost approx $17). Also visit the Victoria and Alfred waterfront development with its many shops and restaurants, the historic House of Parliament and bustling Greenmarket Square. Afternoon at leisure, or you might consider an optional visit to Robben Island, the former prison home of Nelson Mandela. B

Day 5. Cape Town to Kruger area. Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to the Hoedspruit (not included). On arrival you will be made to feel extra welcome. Check in and (time permitting) spend a few hours at leisure. This afternoon, depart on a safari drive in an open Land Rover with your game ranger and tracker. Your ranger is your host for the duration of your stay and he will take care of your every need whilst sharing his intimate knowledge of the wild. Sipping sundowners under an African sky somehow "finishes off" the whole day's experience. LD

Day 6 & 7. Private Game Lodge. Up at dawn for your early morning game drive! Of course, the less energetic are welcome to sleep late! Search out a multitude of animals including lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard, cheetah and wild dog, together with a wealth of antelope and birds interacting in their natural environment.

Return to camp for a hearty breakfast, relax around the pool or talk with your ranger and mingle with the guests. Your afternoon game drive takes you well into the evening. Return to your lodge for another sumptuous dinner. Weather permitting you may enjoy a bush 'braai' at a surprise venue! Overnight at your preferred lodge. BLD

Day 8. Private Game Lodge to Johannesburg. This morning you depart on your final game drive with the hope of spotting that extra special sighting. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Later depart for Johannesburg. On arrival in Johannesburg make your way to the shuttle bus transfer to your airport hotel for an overnight. B

Day 9. Johannesburg to Victoria Falls. Today make your way back to the airport for your flight to Victoria Falls. Depart mid-morning for flight to Victoria Falls (flight included). Upon arrival you will be met by Goway's local representative and transferred to your chosen hotel, the remainder of your day is at leisure. F

Day 10. Victoria Falls. Enjoy a guided walking tour of Victoria Falls, one of seven natural wonders of the world. This afternoon, enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. B

Day 11. Victoria Falls to Johannesburg. Mid-morning transfer to the airport for return flight to Johannesburg (flight included). BF
